Writer | Director – Michael Bentham
A graduate of the UK’s National Film and Television School, Michael’s work spans feature films, television, music videos and music composition, with above-the-line broadcast credits on BBC, Channel 4 and Sky. Michael is currently attached to four feature films as writer and/or director, including DEADLOCK, a psychological thriller optioned by BAFTA award-winning producer Natasha Carlish at Vicarious Dreams, executive produced by James Atherton (The Proposition) at Quickfire Films. Directing credits include the critically-acclaimed Channel 4-commissioned documentary CHATHAM JACK, selected as “choice of the day” by Radio Times and Time Out magazines; and award-winning shorts MOWING THE LAWN and I SAW MOMMY KILLING SANTA CLAUS. Promos include WORLDS APART for Arts Council England (2012 Cultural Olympiad), and FENRIR for Orion Publishing. Michael is a professional member of the Directors Guild of Great Britain, and represented by Diana Tyler at MBA literary agents, London. An experienced educator, Michael headed the directing department of the Northern Film School from 2012 to 2014, before emigrating to Australia. He currently lectures in screenwriting and directing at VCA film school, Melbourne University. In 2015 Michael was awarded a full scholarship and PhD candidature at Melbourne University to research the process of writing a biopic.
Producer – Donna L. Hensler
Donna L. Hensler is a Melbourne based producer and graduate of the Victorian College of Arts producing course, where she produced two award winning short films; THE POSTMAN and FILLED WITH WATER. She has worked on the Steven Spielberg HBO series THE PACIFIC, production managed the AFC and Film Victoria funded short film LOVE APPLES, post production managed the feature documentary LIONEL and produced hours and hours of low budget television shows and DVD series made from archival material and sold internationally. In the last few years she has produced the Film Victoria funded short film JUST DESSERTS, which is now being distributed by Flickerfest. In addition, she has worked as a digital marketer and producer and lectured in production management. In 2015, Donna was co-producer on the critically acclaimed feature film, JOE CINQUE’S CONSOLATION, based on the celebrated novel of the same name, by Helen Garner. Donna currently oversees the yearly production of over 150 short films made at the Victorian College of Arts, School of Film and Television. She is also embarking on a practice based PhD digital archive research project at The University of Melbourne.
